Journeys of the aged
Thirteen art pieces devoted to the topic of life and aging. Each arresting piece of this collection presents a capture of a senior person, subtly conveying a profound exploration of the author’s fascination with the often uncelebrated journeys of the aged. The artist’s work remind us of the beauty and value of the lived experiences.

The artist uses vivid colors to emphasize the various feelings older people have, their past experiences, and the life stories lived through. The careful and delicate brush strokes and details give these characters a real and authentic feel and bring to life them on the canvases. Color is used to focus viewer’s attention on the idea that life can be vivid and colorful despite the age.

Each painting shows the dignity and grace that comes with age that the author was fascinated with observing old people on the streets of Lisbon in her own journey to finding self and the individual meaning of her life.
